Lakas Shimizu Memorial Kids' Dash

The Gobble Wobble Kids Dash is dedicated to the memory of Lakas Shimizu. All of the proceeds from the Lakas Shimizu Kids' Dash will be donated to the Lakas Shimizu Philanthropy Fund  - www.lakasshimizu.org

From Dan and Celine Shimizu:

"Lakas Shimizu lived life passionately and died suddenly on Christmas Day 2013. He was eight years old. "Let’s do something," he would say, with an inviting smile and sparkling eyes. Big-hearted and kind, he created laughter by cracking jokes and making witty comments that his friends loved. He found fun and shared it with others. Lakas spent a lot of time at ARM in Burlingame, aspiring to fit into Hoka One Ones. He cheered his Dad’s racing on trails and talked about doing the Western States 100 together, and how they would support each other. Lakas ran at South School’s Fitness Fridays with his friends for a total of 17.25 miles. A muscular and musical boy - he loved finding power in his body and the power in music. Lakas was a true runner.  Today, we run to share his love for life. Thank you to ARM for remembering Lakas. Run with strength! Dash with Lakas!
We hope you and the ARM community enjoy the day and the run and we thank you for remembering Lakas in this special way."
